I managed to get in 10 miles on Saturday - running. Well, run/walk per my ratio, but still running - and no ankle issues. It was a very slow and cautious run. Combine the fact that I was paranoid about screwing up my ankle again and the fact that at times I thought my lungs were going to explode, well I'll just let you imagine exactly how slow I was. Suffice it to say that it was perhaps the slowest 10 miles I have ever run.
Now I can go back to not running because I don't want to - and not because I'm not allowed to. Actually, I'll go back to reluctantly running because I don't want to be miserably slow and I don't know how I'd recover if I had a worse time in Phoenix with a flat course than in SF with a hilly one.
