It was 87 degrees yesterday (~30C) - EIGHTY SEVEN! It's just a couple days shy of November - I shouldn't have to be worrying about sweating my face off at this time of year. Seriously. We met at 6:30am, which meant that we started running around 7:20ish. By 9am it was already at least 80F (~26C). Insane.
Week 13
Miles: 16 (25.7km)
Time: 3hrs, 45mins
Notes:
Miles 1-2: I'm grumpy - running does not feel good - probably my body telling me that I should still be sleeping
Miles 3: Downhill, starting to find my groove
Miles 4-10: Feeling great right about now; weather is still kind of cool and nothing is achy/tight/painful - barely feels like I'm exerting effort
Mile 11: Getting warm, my right butt muscle is getting tight and I feel like I need to use the rest room...maybe I can hold it
Miles 12: It is now officially HOT. I literally have a pain in my ass and now I've really got to go. Thank goodness I'm on my way back towards the Aquatic Center, where I can use the rest room. No peeing in the bushes for me today.
Miles 13 thru 16: !@#$% It's BLOODY HOT. Lots of walking because I'm all kinds of sore and officially in a rotten mood because it's so damn HOT.
Maybe next time.
Today, my ankle is killing me. I cannot figure out why since it didn't bother me at all while I was running. I'm hoping that it works itself out. Next week is the Santa Barbara Half Marathon - my last chance this year to get a PR (Personal Record) for a half. No pressure.
